How to Enter Custom Text for Engraving
Custom text is one of the most common forms of engraving and personalization. It may be a name, date, dedication, quote, coordinate, company text, serial number or a short message. To achieve a clean result, the text should be entered clearly and completely.
The most important rule
Write the text exactly as it should appear on the product. Do not rely on later correction unless you specifically ask for a proof or consultation. Names, dates and accents should be checked before the order is confirmed.
What to include in the order
1. Text
Enter the final wording, including accents, punctuation, line breaks and capital letters. If the text should be split into several lines, write each line separately.
2. Font
Choose a font number or describe the style: elegant, modern, handwritten, minimalist, technical, romantic or bold. If you do not know the font, we can recommend one according to the product and material.
3. Placement
State whether the text should be on the front, back, centre, corner, along the edge or in a specific area. For two-sided products, clearly separate front and back text.
4. Style
Describe the desired feeling. Should the engraving be discreet, prominent, formal, personal, luxury, playful or technical? This helps us adjust size, spacing and composition.
Example of a clear assignment
Front: Anna
Back: 12. 8. 2026
Font: elegant handwritten style
Placement: centred, subtle, with enough spacing.
If you are not sure
You can write a simple instruction and send us the idea. We will help choose a suitable layout, font and engraving style.
Diacritics and special characters
Please include all accents and special characters directly in the text. If the selected font does not support them, we will recommend a similar readable option.
Important recommendations
- shorter text usually looks more elegant on small products
- long text needs a larger surface and a simpler font
- names and dates should be checked carefully
- front and back text should be clearly separated
- company text should be consistent with brand spelling
Think about text length
A short inscription can be expressive and refined. A long text may still be possible, but it often needs a simpler layout and a larger product.
Check the text before sending
The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the supplied text. We can help with visual preparation, but we cannot automatically know whether a date, name or spelling is intentional.
Proof before production
For selected custom projects, a proof may be prepared before production. Please review it carefully and confirm only when the content and layout are correct.
Custom engraving
KalinumX approaches each text according to product, material and purpose. The goal is a result that is readable, balanced and naturally connected to the object.
Conclusion
A well-entered text saves time and improves the final result. Clear wording, suitable font and correct placement are the foundation of elegant personalization.
